"First off, everybody knows that Tommy's licks are legendary. Seriously... just listen to any recording he's ever been part of. For any session I do that needs steel, he's the first one I call. In the past sometimes our busy schedules have conflicted or with rising gas prices it's just not been in the project budget to have him make the 100 mile drive to my studio to play on one or two tracks... but now with his new online file transfer system he may be hundreds of miles away but it's like he's in the chair next to me. Like last week for example... we needed some steel on a last-minute Kevin Fowler single we were cutting. We sent the tracks to Tommy, and in a matter of hours we were mixing his steel parts in to the final version of the song whereas before it would have taken days.
